Cecenia: rappresaglie contro le Ong, controlli dei servizi segreti

07/25/2006 Nonostante in Cecenia continui la crisi umanitaria e la popolazione civile dipenda tuttora dagli aiuti provenienti dall'estero, il governo russo ha emesso una nuova normativa che render� ancora pi� difficile il lavoro delle organizzazioni umanitarie. Secondo quanto riporta l'agenzia Reuters, d'ora in avanti tutti i collaboratori delle organizzazioni non governative (Ong) e umanitarie potranno muoversi sul territorio ceceno solo con apposite autorizzazioni dei servizi di sicurezza russi, le autorizzazioni per un viaggio in Cecenia dovranno essere richieste con settimane di anticipo e ogni collaboratore dovr� essere registrato dai servizi segreti russi FSB - denuncia l'Associazione per i popoli minacciati. Gi� agli inizi di giugno le organizzazioni operanti in Cecenia erano state invitate a attenersi alla nuova normativa. Nel frattempo in Cecenia continua la persecuzione degli attivisti per i diritti umani: dal 1994 a oggi sono stati uccisi almeno 13 attivisti, molti hanno potuto salvarsi solo lasciando il paese.

07/13/2006 Jučer je privedena Tonka Raku�ić (60) koja je na Markovom trgu u Zagrebu mirno stajala s transparentom �Ja sam �rtva sudskog i policijskog kriminala�. Prema Zakonu o javnom okupljanju je naime zabranjeno bilo kakvo okupljanje na udaljenosti manjoj od 100 metara od objekata u kojima su smje�teni ili zasjedaju Hrvatski sabor, Predsjednik Republike Hrvatske, Vlada Republike Hrvatske i Ustavni sud Republike Hrvatske. Protiv ovog postupka policije o�tro je protestirao GONG.

07/12/2006 E' stata approvata a grande maggioranza all'Europarlamento di Strasburgo la Relazione sul Commercio Equo e Solidale recentemente discussa alla Commissione Sviluppo dell'UE, e fortemente discussa ed emendata dalle stesse reti internazionali del Commercio Equo a cui l'italiana Agices, Assemblea Generale Italiana del Commercio Equo e Solidale, aderisce e partecipa. Una risoluzione importante, che permette di porre nuovamente al centro della discussione politica della Commissione la necessit� di una revisione nei termini di maggiore equit� e giustizia le dinamiche del commercio internazionale a partire da un settore in netta espansione. Le vendite dei prodotti del Commercio Equo infatti sono cresciute nei paesi dell'Unione di oltre il 20% dal 2000. E l'Unione Europea risulta essere il pi� ampio mercato per i prodotti del Fair Trade, raccogliendo per il 60-70% delle vendite mondiali, cosa che le permetterebbe di assumere un ruolo guida nel sostenere il commercio equo.

Lombardia: stop all'importazione pellicce cinesi e al randagismo

07/12/2006 La Lav esprime vivo apprezzamento per l�approvazione all�unanimit� da parte del Consiglio Regionale della Lombardia di una mozione contro l�importazione di pellicce dalla Cina, frutto di sevizie sugli animali allevati per tale produzione. Con la mozione approvata, la Regione si far� portavoce presso il Ministero delle Attivit� Produttive per bloccare le importazioni di pellicce provenienti dalla Cina. Il Consiglio Regionale della Lombardia - come diversi altri Consigli Regionali e Comunali - aderisce cos� alla campagna della Lav che denuncia gli abusi subiti dagli animali negli allevamenti cinesi. E ieri il Consiglio Regionale della Lombardia ha approvato anche la legge regionale per contrastare il randagismo e tutelare gli animali d�affezione. �Siamo soddisfatti per il lavoro svolto dal Consiglio Regionale della Lombardia che ha visto la Lav direttamente coinvolta in un�attivit� di coordinamento su pi� fronti per cercare di uniformare i progetti di legge dei diversi schieramenti - dichiara la Lav.

Le loro condanne sono state spesso emesse al termine di processi iniqui, basati su �confessioni� di crimini mai commessi, rese dopo interrogatori estenuanti, minacce e violenze. Questa � la realt� della pena di morte in Giappone, descritta in un rapporto intitolato diffuso ieri da Amnesty International in occasione di un incontro tra attivisti ed esperti sulla pena di morte della regione Asia-Pacifico, riuniti in questi giorni a Hong Kong. �Il Giappone � uno dei pochi paesi industrializzati che ancora compie omicidi di Stato� � ricorda Amnesty. �Abolendo la pena capitale, il Giappone darebbe un segnale di leadership nella regione Asia-Pacifico, che non sta procedendo al passo con la tendenza globale verso l�abolizione�. 125 Paesi hanno cancellato la pena di morte per legge o nella pratica.
