In Italia parte il Programma Microimprese: Comitato Collegamento Cattolici, artigiani e missionari insieme per far crescere il tessuto delle piccole attività economiche. che, secondo Microfinanza, sono nel mondo in via di sviluppo 500 milioni. Sono circa 200 i progetti di quest'anno, per un totale di oltre 2 milioni di dollari, che saranno proposti dalla fondazione 'Populorum Progressio' del Pontificio Consiglio 'Cor Unum', per l'aiuto economico per la promozione integrale delle comunita' indigene, meticce e afroamericane contadine povere dell'America Latina.
