"L�immagine di Treviso � profondamente cambiata negli ultimi anni: la citt� ospitale e gentile del passato ora appare rancorosa e chiusa. La responsabilit� di questo mutamento di percezione � innanzitutto del ceto politico locale che ha preso in ostaggio il 'marchio' trevigiano" - scrivono i promotori dell'appello che vogliono evidenziare come "larga parte di questa societ� non discrimina le persone in base alla religione, alla sessualit�, al colore della pelle". Intanto la Commissione europea ribadisce che non ci possono essere discriminazioni contro i cittadini stranieri a Verona, Romano d�Ezzelino (Vicenza) e Treviso.

02/20/2008 Oggi, undici rappresentanti del 'Comitato per la promozione e protezione dei diritti umani' e del 'Gruppo di lavoro per la Convenzione sui diritti dell�infanzia e dell�adolescenza' hanno presentato all�Ufficio dell�Alto commissario Onu per i diritti umani di Ginevra tre documenti congiunti di informazioni supplementari al Rapporto del governo italiano oggi in esame. L�Italia � uno dei sei Paesi su 47 del Consiglio d�Europa a rimanere senza una Istituzione nazionale indipendente per i diritti umani e a risultare inadempiente a tutte le specifiche raccomandazioni in proposito di ciascuno dei Comitati Onu per i diritti umani.
