Pekan lalu PKBI DIY menggelar pelatihan bagi mitra strategis dengan tema HIV, AIDS, dan IMS. Para peserta berasal dari komunitas mitra strategis, seperti komunitas gay warnet, pekerja seks laki-laki, waria, perempuan pekerja seks, dan remaja jalanan.

Walau tidak diakui terang-terangan, sudah lama terjadi ketakutan tertular HIV di kalangan petugas kesehatan saat merawat orang dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA). Akibatnya, banyak rumah sakit menolak merawat ODHA karena mitos penularan HIV.

An Indian organisation, The Prakriti Foundation, which is based in Chennai, is organising One Billion Eyes, an annual documentary film festival. The theme for the year is Caste. The festival will feature films, the thoughts of concerned citizen on caste and the agony of the victims. The best film will get the prize of Rs 25,000.

ActionAid and its partner organisations are coming together for a national Conclave in Hyderabad from 11 to 14 June, 2007. The objective is to provide a platform to the social groups and the marginalize people whose rights have been violated. The conclave will plan out strategies for intervention.
